and Now, Live from Miami... has extended its run into Fall 2016!

Celebrating student involvement in five decades of broadcasting at Miami, details about the exhibit are available on the Special Collections website.

 

The WMUB Archives document student-produced radio and television programs at Miami University for over 50 years, going back into the 1960s. Programs in this collection include:

  • 529-3521: a live student call-in radio discussion program
  • McMillan to Miami: a short comedy program about an international student adapting to life at Miami
  • Newspoint: a half-hour nightly radio newscast
  • Oxford Week in Review: weekly local news highlights reported by students
  • Passing Reality: written, directed, and produced by students, this 2002 comedy satirized reality television and life at Miami.
  • Studio 14: a student-produced television variety show at Miami University under the guidance of Dr. Bill Utter

There are additionally a number of fascinating special broadcasts, including the 130th Miami University Commencement, with Bob Hope speaking. Materials in the collection are made available thanks to donations by former students and faculty, as well as Steve Beitzel & Ringo Jones in the Media, Journalism, and Film department who have been working to recover and digitize many historic broadcasts.
